Wake Radiology Interventional Services is conveniently located in our Cary office right next to our Medical Imaging and Oncology offices. This facility is the location of our outpatient clinic. We also offer limited outpatient interventional procedures under ultrasound and x-ray guidance. We will use this clinic for evaluating patients before and after major procedures performed at Wake Med.
The following interventional procedures will be offered in this office. Other procedures may be added in the future.
Interventional Oncology
- Initial consultation for patient evaluation in management of liver tumors, painful bone lesions, biopsies, etc.
- Placement of central venous ports including chest wall ports, PICC’s, Groshong catheters, etc.
- Long and short term pleural effusion and ascites drainage
- Fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided biopsy procedures
Dialysis Access
- Placement of dialysis access catheters
- Removal of dialysis access catheters
- Hemo dialysis access, angiography, angioplasty
Vein Therapies
- Laser saphenous vein ablation for treatment of chronic venous insufficiency and related problems
- Microphlebectomy for varicose veins
- Treatment of “spider veins” with sclerotherapy or topical laser therapy
